Aam Aadmi Party's national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reached Doon on Sunday on a one-day visit to make a dent in the vote bank of BJP and Congress in the 2022 assembly elections of Uttarakhand. During this, he tried his best to garner votes by making a lucrative announcement. He made promises to the people of Uttarakhand that 300 units of electricity would be free and old electricity bills would be waived. He said that 24 hours electricity will be given in Uttarakhand.
At the same time, free electricity will be given to the farmers of Uttarakhand. Along with this, he also promised to come next time and said that next time he will come to announce the CM face of the Aam Aadmi Party. In the press conference held in Dehradun, Arvind Kejriwal started his talk by saying my salutations to all the people of Uttarakhand. He said that it is good to come to Uttarakhand. God has given everything to this Devbhoomi. There are hardworking, good, and honest people here, but the leaders and parties of Uttarakhand have left no stone unturned to ruin it.
Kejriwal said that I am going into the power sector by guaranteeing four things. First – Like Delhi, 300 units of electricity will be given free to every family in Uttarakhand. 200 units are free in Delhi. Second- Our workers are going from door to door. All such electricity bills were seen which are being sent wrongly. People are getting confused. So old bills will be waived.
Third- There will be no power cut. 24 hours electricity will be given in Uttarakhand. In Delhi, when I became the CM, there used to be an 8-hour power cut in the summer. We got the work done from house to house. Today Delhi has 24 hours electricity. Fourth- Free electricity will be given to the farmers of Uttarakhand. Today the farmer is poor. If these benefits are given to him then his life will be easy.
Kejriwal said that after the formation of our government, these four declarations will be implemented from the first pen. In the case of providing electricity for 24 hours only, it will take 3-4 years. I think people here will be happy after today's announcement. On the question of whether the Uttarakhand government is running in losses, Kejriwal said that when our government was formed in Delhi, the government used to run in losses there too. Today only the Delhi government is in profit in the country.
The budget of Delhi is 60 thousand crores. 2200 crores are spent on electricity here. Out of the 50 thousand crore budget of Uttarakhand, only 1200 crore will be spent. Said that there are two models of governance, one model is of corruption which the parties here are adopting. The second model is ours. We are promising that if our government comes, we will not increase taxes for five years. No additional tax will be levied. Will stop theft We don't steal. We are a party run by public funds.
Kejriwal said that today there are two parties in Uttarakhand. Like two wheels of a mill, the people of Uttarakhand are getting crushed between these two parties. Both the parties have made the settings among themselves. Once you, once us. The ruling party does not even have a CM. Said that it must have happened for the first time under which a party is telling its CM that our CM is useless. Said that Congress has not been able to choose the leader of the opposition for a month. These parties have nothing to do with the development of the people. People's income is not increasing, expenses are increasing.
Uttarakhand, which generates electricity, sells electricity to other states, did anyone think of free electricity to the people here? Not at all, because he is in the throes of his power. I heard a minister here in Kotv he was saying that we will give 100 units of electricity-free. Good to hear, but just before the election this announcement will not be fulfilled or not.
On this, within 24 hours, the CM here said that there is no such proposal, so the people here did not even have to wait for six months. Somebody from every family of Uttarakhand lives in Delhi. The work which all parties could not do in 70 years is being done in Delhi today. Similar development will happen here in Uttarakhand also. I would like to assure the people of Uttarakhand that they will not only do the work that they have done in Delhi but will also do more work. Kejriwal does what he says.
During this, he said that soon I will come to Uttarakhand and will announce the CM face of Uttarakhand in front of you. Said that today there are two types of education in our country. One for the poor and one for the rich. This issue is close to my heart. We have made government schools in Delhi in such a way that even big family members are enrolling children in government schools.
We have not allowed private schools in Delhi to increase fees for five years. You make our government, we will get your money back from schools. Said that all the state governments have a nominal tax on petrol. Therefore, everyone should demand the central government to reduce the tax. A complete plan is being made in our party regarding employment. We will soon put our plan in front of you all. In the end, Arvind Kejriwal said that there are as many patriotic people who want the development of Uttarakhand. I invite all of them to come to you. And with that, his press conference ended.
During this, AAP leader Colonel Ajay Kothiyal said that we will not do negative politics in Uttarakhand. We will come up with a good model of governance. Said that when I was visiting the mountain, women were asking that if our rivers generate electricity, then will we not get free electricity?
