Amidst the challenges of the Coronavirus epidemic, Japan successfully hosted the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo. The International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bock formally announced the conclusion of Tokyo Olympics 2020. At the same time, US President Joe Biden spoke to Japan's PM Yoshihide Suga and commended him on the successful hosting of the Games.

According to the White House, Joe Biden expressed his appreciation for Japan's successful hosting of the Olympic Games and the performance of all athletes, as well as reaffirming support for Japan's hosting of the Paralympics , which will start on 24th of August. Japan's Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga on Monday expressed his gratitude to the countrymen for successfully and safely organizing the Olympic Games despite the difficulties related to the corona virus epidemic.

Games took place without spectators:

Expressing gratitude to the people for their cooperation and support, Suga said, "The Games were postponed for a year and took place under strict guidelines but I think we were able to fulfill our responsibility as the host country."

The Tokyo Olympic Games took place without spectators. The players were sent to the bio-secure environment in the game village. The players had to wear a mask immediately after the end of the game on the field and advised to leave Japan soon after the competitions ended.

US tops medal table:

America tops the medal table with 113 medals (39 gold, 41 silver and 33 bronze). China finished second with 38 gold, followed by hosts Japan at third. Japan was successful in winning a total of 58 medals. In addition to winning 27 gold medals, the most in its history.
