US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. According to reports, Norway MP Christian Tybring-Gjedde has written a letter to the Nobel Committee for Trump’s nomination. Gjedde recommends the name of Trump for a peace deal between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Earlier in 2018, Trump was nominated for the award to resolve the dispute with North Korea.
Gjedde wrote in the letter, “Hopefully, after the peace agreement between the UAE and Israel, other countries in the Middle East will do the same. The deal will be a game-changer. This will increase mutual cooperation and prosperity in the entire region. ” Let us tell you that for the second time in his presidency, Trump was nominated for the prize.
Other leaders should follow Trump in terms of decision making: Gjedde
Gjedde said, “I am not a big supporter of Trump, but other leaders should follow Trump in terms of decision making.” The committee should consider the facts in awarding the award. I think Trump has worked to bring peace between countries in the same way as another nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize. Those who have won the Peace Prize in recent years have done far less than Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing. ”
Four US Presidents have received this award:
So far, four US presidents have received the Nobel Peace Prize. The prize was awarded to Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, Woodrow Wilson in 1919, Jimmy Carter in 2002 and Barack Obama in 2009.
