The renovation work of World’s largest cricket stadium ‘Sardar Patel Stadium’ in Ahmadabad has been completed and ready to be inaugurated. Earlier, the seating capacity of the audience in the old stadium was 53 thousand and in 2015, it has been disbanded and redesigned. This cricket stadium is the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium has been in the news for quite some time now and reports have come out that US President Donald Trump may inaugurate the stadium. Donald Trump will be visiting India on February 24 and 25. If the news is to be believed then, both the heads of India and America will hold a joint rally in this stadium in which lakhs of people are expected to attend.
Let us tell you that it took 100 million US dollars (more than about seven billion rupees) to build this stadium. This stadium will not only host cricket matches but also host many other sports such as football, hockey, basketball, kabaddi, boxing, lawn tennis, athletic tracks, squash, billiards, badminton, and swimming.
Earlier, the BCCI had planned to organize a match between Asian XI and World XI at the inauguration of the stadium, but the plan was postponed as its work was not completely finished. It is now being said that the first cricket match can be played on this ground in April or May.
