US President Donald Trump has decided to withdraw US Troops from Germany. Many media reports have claimed this. The US Army has been deployed in the European Nation since the Second World War and currently 34,500 are stationed there. Following Trump's decision, 25,000 troops would be removed from Germany.

A senior US official said that the US had been considering the decision since September. He said that it is not that the decision has been taken after Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel did not attend the G7 summit. Donald Trump was scheduled to address the G7 meeting in Washington in late June.

Trump's administration said that a memorandum signed on behalf of White House National Security Advisor Robert O'Brien has been ordered to change. In a statement, the chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs and Congressman Eliot Engel said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would certainly be happy with this decision.

He said that Defense Minister Mark Asper, Joint Chief Mark Miley and other top officials have kept silence over this hasty decision. Trump has not heard the views of any senior and knowledgeable officer on his decision.
