US Offers Help to Stop the Spread of Coronavirus in North Korea

On Thursday, the US government has offered help to combat the coronavirus amid tension between the US and North Korea. This request for American help has come at a time when North Korea has banned the entry of American citizens in the country. With this, the tension between the two countries regarding the nuclear program is at its peak.

US Department of states' spokesman Morgan Ortagus said, "The United States expresses deep concern over the spread of the coronavirus in North Korea." Ortagus said that the US supports the efforts of aid groups to stop the spread of the virus in North Korea. She said in one of her statements that America is ready to help and facilitate these organizations. The virus has reached North Korea through China.

On the other hand, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has enacted stricter rules for all those returning from China. Such people are being kept in monitoring centers. Such people have been prevented from going to public places. North Korea has banned aircraft and trains coming from China. Additionally, every foreigner visiting here is required to remain in the isolation ward for a week. According to reports, 1,367 people have died due to coronavirus in China and 59804 infection cases have been reported.
