Washington: An influential US lawmaker on Monday requested the Biden administration to immediately send a consignment of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine to India. MP Tom Malinowski also appealed to the government to activate all possible resources of America including the Department of Defense to send ventilators to India along with oxygen production and storage equipment.
The MP said, "I called for the immediate availability of the approved AstraZeneca vaccine from the WHO available to the US (which the US will not use) to India and other countries."
India is grappling with the second wave of coronavirus infection and more than three lakh new cases are coming here every day for the last few days. There is a shortage of medical oxygen, beds in hospitals.
