Uri The Surgical Strike: Vicky Kaushal’s Film Joins Rs 100-Crore Club

Congratulations are in order for Uri: The Surgical Strike team! The film has zoomed past the much-coveted Rs 100-crore mark on its tenth day of release.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer raked in over Rs 60 crore in its first week itself. It earned Rs 7.73 crore on Wednesday, taking its total collection so far to Rs 63.54 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures that the film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on its tenth day.

Uri: The Surgical Strike, featuring Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Mohit Raina and Paresh Rawal in key roles, revolves around the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army on seven terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control on September 29, 2016, in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri earlier that month.

Vicky, who cemented his position in Bollywood with four films last year including Manmarziyaan, Raazi, and Sanju, has shot to the league of stars with Uri.

After the phenomenal opening of Uri, Vicky told the media, "Till the film is released, you don't have an idea if it is going to work. But since yesterday, the kind of reaction we have received is really overwhelming. It's a surreal feeling that the audience has accepted our film with open arms."

Uri: The Surgical Strike, directed by Aditya Dhar, continues its golden run and the other films, Why Cheat India, Rangeela Raja and Fraud Saiyaan that released at the box office have paled in comparison in front of the war drama.
