The Uttar Pradesh government has given a big relief amidst coronovirus infection spread. The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a major cut in the price of the RTPRR test kit used for the corona test. Under this, the UP government has reduced the fees of Covid-19 testing from Rs 2,600 to Rs 1,600 in all labs, including private labs.

State’s Additional Chief Secretary Amit Prasad said, “The prices of RTPCR test kits used for COVID tests have come down. Hence, the price of the test has been revised. The maximum cost of the test in the state will now be Rs. 1,600.
The state Health Department said that the order was implemented with immediate effect. As per the order, the price of COVID-19 confirmation test through TruNet was also fixed at Rs 1,600. It states that action will be taken against those who charge more than the fee prescribed under the Pandemic Act.
Fee for each test was Rs 4,500, which was reduced to Rs 2,500 in April
This is the second time the COVID-19 test price was lowered. When private labs were first allowed testing through RTPCR, the fee for each test was Rs 4,500, which was reduced to Rs 2,500 in April. As per the new orders, now labs cannot charge more than Rs 1,600 per test.
A senior health official said that the objective of reducing the price is to ensure that maximum number of people can be tested. Director Information, Shishir said, “On Thursday, UP performed 1,50,652 tests and the total number of tests done in the state so far is 72,17,980. Out of 1,50,652 tests on Thursday, 50,000 tests were done on RTPCR. The U.P. has got an achievement of the state which is conducting maximum testing in India. ”
