Yogi government's cabinet will be expanded at 5.30 pm today. Six to seven new ministers can take the oath. Governor Anandiben Patel has reached Lucknow Raj Bhavan from Gujarat. A high-level meeting has been called at 2 pm. At the same time, Jitin Prasad, who left Congress and joined BJP, has been called from Delhi to Lucknow. Jitin's name is believed to be fixed among those who become ministers. It is being told that less than 6 months are left for the assembly elections, in such a situation, BJP is doing this experiment to create regional and caste equations. Jats are angry because of the farmers' agitation in western UP. Some ministers have been called to the BJP office. Resignation of ministers can be taken on the basis of non-performance.

Support of all castes in UP

The party's first priority is to address the caste equations. Political analysts say that the caste equation of UP was behind the party's historic victory in 2017. In the last assembly elections, the BJP had got the support of all castes in UP, the party won 325 seats along with allies. It is said that non-Yadav OBC had a big hand in this big victory of the BJP. OBCs are about 40% in UP and they hold a lot of importance in the politics of UP.

The Depressed Classes constitute about 21% of the total population. In this sense, they are also very important in politics. After this comes the number 20% of the upper castes. It has the highest number of 11% Brahmins, 6% Thakurs, and 3% Kayasthas and Vaishyas. It is believed that the BJP got the majority of the backward caste votes except for Yadav. Apart from Jatav, a large number of Dalits had also voted for BJP, but the small parties with whom BJP had brought these vote banks in their court, are now either away from the party or are angry.

Cabinet will be expanded for the second time

After the formation of the government on 19 March 2017, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh expanded the cabinet on 22 August 2019. During that time there were 56 members in the cabinet.
