In the fight against Corona infection in the country, along with the Modi government at the center, the state governments are also running step by step. The Modi government has cut the salary of MPs and banned MP funds for two years. On the same lines of the Center, the state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand have decided to stop the bowl and MLA fund in the salaries of the MLAs. However, these three are BJP ruled states.=

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday decided to cut the salary of all ministers, legislators and legislative council members by 30 percent and eliminate the MLA fund for one year. Yogi government has taken this decision in the cabinet meeting held through video conferencing on Wednesday late evening. The state government will invest all this money to fight Corona.

The Legislature of Uttar Pradesh has a total of 503 members, out of which 403 are Assembly Members and 100 are Legislative Council Members. UP Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that the deduction of 30 percent of salary and allowances of all ministers of the state makes Rs 2,21,76,000. There are 503 MLAs and members of the Legislative Council in the state. There is a fund of Rs 15,28,74,000 from the one-year MLA fund. In this way, in a year, Rs 17,50,50,000 will be deposited in the Covid Care Fund, it will be spent to strengthen medical facilities.

A big decision was taken on the lines of the Center in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. In this meeting, the Nitish government has decided to cut the salary of Chief Minister, Minister and MLAs by 15 percent for one year. The amount deposited by the minister and legislators' pay cuts will be deposited in the Corona Transition Elimination Fund. The Nitish government has implemented it for the next one year with immediate effect.

The salary of MLA, Minister and Chief Minister in Bihar is 40 thousand rupees per month. This is 15 percent, i.e. six thousand will be deducted from their salary every month. Apart from this, MLAs get an allowance of 50 thousand per month, which will not be deducted. However, the term of all the sitting MLAs ends before December 2020. The Bihar Legislature has a total of 318 members, including 243 Assembly members and 75 Legislative Council members. In such a situation, after deducting 15 percent of all members, the government will raise Rs 2,28,96,000 crore in a year.

The BJP government of Uttarakhand has also decided to cut the salary of ministers and MLAs by 30 percent. In a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat on Wednesday, the state government has decided to cut the MLA's Local Area Development Fund by Rs 1 crore for the next two years, in addition to the salary cuts of the MLAs.
