The operation is not on track even after the resumption of rail service from June 1 on the first day of Lockdown 5.0 i.e. Unlock 1.0 in the midst of Coronavirus infection.  The Mahananda Mahananda Express, a major train from Delhi to Howrah route, was canceled today.  Due to which thousands of passengers who have made reservations to travel in it are disappointed.  They reached the railway station hours ago.

The Mahananda Express was to reach Aligarh at 9 am on Monday.  Riding in it, the passengers reached the station at seven in the morning in preparation for the journey ahead, but their disappointment was at hand.  Now today's first train at Aligarh railway station will reach Gomti Express platform two going from Lucknow to New Delhi at around 12:30 pm.

Several trains have started operating on the Delhi Howrah route since the end of Lockdown 4.0 from Monday.  Railway authorities had started preparations at Aligarh Junction for the commencement of trains operations.  Travelers traveling will have to take care of physical distancing.  Shells are made at the station.  Thermal screening of all passengers leaving the station is being done.
