Ujjain: Smart City Project Works Reviewed

Ujjain: Divisional commissioner Ajeet Kumar along with IG Rakesh Gupta, collector Shashank Mishra, SP Sachin Atulkar and municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal on Wednesday conducted an inspection of various under-construction sites of Smart Project and also reviewed the progress of other works.

The authorities inspected the sites of a multi-modal transit hub, Mahakal Rudra-Sagar integrated development programme, convention center, etc and took note of hurdles coming in the execution of these works. On inspecting the command and control center, they lauded the project. Ajeet Kumar congratulated Commissioner Pal and Smart City team on getting selected for three awards in digital payment category for 2018 by the Government of India.

Budget to be pro-people, development oriented

Series of discussions on the Ujjain Municipal Corporation budget for the year 2019-2020 continued on Wednesday as well. During the meeting of mayor-in-council which was chaired by Mayor Meena Jonwal, the members took on record various proposals, particularly those related to income generation, put forth by the commissioner. Mayor indicated that the budget will be pro-people and there will be some special packages for city development.

UMC selected for CLF Award

Ujjain city has been selected for 'Swachhta Excellence Award. Under it, the Nagariy Mahila Samiti has got first prize in CLF. This award will be presented during a ceremony being organized at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on February 15.

Registrations on for 'MYSY'

Municipal commissioner Pratibha Pal on Wednesday reviewed execution of newly-introduced 'Mukhya Mantri Yuva Swabhiman Yojana'. Registration for the scheme has begun at Ujjain Municipal Corporation headquarters and unemployed educated youths between the age group of 21 to 30 years can take its benefit.

She asked the associate agencies Divine and Om Sai Vision to make youths aware of the scheme through ward-wise programmes and promoting the scheme on social media. Sty fund of Rs 4,000 will be provided to each beneficiary as against employment equivalent to 100 days, but their income should be less than Rs 2 lakh per year.
