U-19 World Cup: New Zealand, Afghanistan and Pakistan made it to the Quarter-Finals

New Zealand U-19 team defeated Sri Lanka by three wickets and showed their way out of the Under-19 World Cup while Afghanistan reached the quarter-finals with a 160-run win over the United Arab Emirates.

On Wednesday, New Zealand beat Sri Lanka by three wickets and showed their way out of the Under-19 World Cup while Afghanistan reached the quarter-finals with a 160-run win over the United Arab Emirates. Pakistan also defeated Zimbabwe by 38 runs to qualify for the quarter-finals. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 242 runs for 9 wickets. In reply, New Zealand won the match by three wickets.

In the second match between Afghanistan and UAE, Afghanistan scored 265 runs for 6 wickets. In reply, the UAE team was all out for just 105 runs. Afghanistan's Shafiqulla Ghaffari took five wickets for 23 runs in this match. He has become the first player in the world to take 5 or more wickets in two consecutive ODIs in youth cricket. Earlier, he took 6 wickets for 15 runs against hosts South Africa last Friday.

This is Afghanistan's second consecutive win in this tournament. With this victory, Afghanistan has made it to the quarter-finals. Afghanistan scored 265 for 6 wickets with the help of openers Ibrahim Jadran (87) and Rahmanullah (78). In response, the UAE team was all-out for 105 runs in 32.4 overs.
