Bangladesh defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the Semi-final of the Under-19 World Cup 2020 being played in South Africa. Now, Bangladesh will have to compete with India in the finals for the title. Bangladesh's team made it to the finals of the Under 19 World Cup tournament for the first time. The final match between India and Bangladesh will be played on 9 February.

India defeated Pakistan in the first semi-final and confirmed their place in the finals of the tournament. This will be the first time for the Indian team when they take on Bangladesh in this tournament for the title. Earlier, India had played the final of this tournament six times in which it had won the title four times. If the Indian team wins the final this time, then it will win the title for the fifth time under-19 World Cup.

The second semi-final of the U-19 World Cup was played between New Zealand and Bangladesh. In this match, Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first. Bowling first, the Bangladesh team stopped the New Zealand team for just 211 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. For New Zealand, middle-order batsman Beckham Wheeler Greenall scored an unbeaten 75 runs. Nicholas Lydiston contributed 44 runs while Fergus Lemon scored 24 and Ollie White scored 18 runs. Captain Jesse Tushkoff scored just ten runs.
