US President Donald Trump has once again questioned India about the tariff rate. Trump said that even though India has reduced its import duty on American motorcycles from 100 percent to 50 percent, but it is still very high and we can not accept it. America is a country that can no longer be fooled.

Truly, Harley Davidson was referring to import duty imposed in India on motorcycles. The US is quite sensitive about this and Trump wants India to bring it down to zero percent.

Trump, according to the news agency PTI, citing his talks with PM Modi said, "When Harley is sent there, they impose 100 per cent tax. When they send here (they make a large number of motorcycles) then there is no tax. I called them. I said that it is not acceptable. '

Trump said, "He (PM Modi) reduced the tariff by 50 percent on one of our calls. But I said that this is also not self-evident, because it is 50 percent zero. It is still unacceptable. And they are working on it." In this way, they indicated that both the countries are still negotiating on resolving the issue of import duty on American motorcycles.

Significantly, the Modi government had increased custom duty on import of many foreign items during the last year's budget. This decision did not like American President Donald Trump. Immediately after this, during a meeting of the steel industry, Trump had strongly opposed India to impose more tariff on Harley Davidson Bike. They told it absolutely wrong.

The US president also said that the US does not charge any kind of charge to import the bike, but India has done this. If this happens then America can also pay more tariffs on bikes coming from India. A few days ago, Trump also targeted India on business matters. In April, Trump had said that India is one of the highest duty-paying countries in the world.

In Washington, the US President said at the National Republican Congressional Committee Annual Spring Dinner, India imposes 100% tax on American products including motorcycle-diamond-davidson motorcycles, and said that it is not fair to impose wildly in this way. Troubled by trump, he called India 'the King of Tax'.

Indeed, on the economic front these days between India and the US has increased. Last month, the GSP (Generally Extended System of Preference) facility was handed over to India by Trump Administration of the United States. This means that the Trump Government will impose taxes on the product that India now sells in the US. Although the Government of India is claiming that this decision of America will not affect the country.

The US started GSP in 1976. Its aim was to increase economic growth in developing countries. Under this, duty-free or nominal tariffs of select goods are allowed to export to other countries in the US.
