Jodha Akbar' and 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' fame actor Lokendra Singh Rajawat had to have one leg amputated. Lack of work and worry about money had made his stress level so high that his blood sugar rose to a dangerous star. He had gangrene in his leg, forcing him to have his leg amputated last week until he was reduced by the operation. Lokendra's 5-hour surgery was performed at Bhaktivedanta Hospital, Mira Road, Mumbai.
Lokendra said in an interview given to a website – "I could not do anything. I was working so well before the pandemic. Then the work started becoming very less and there was tension at home due to lack of money. This It all started when I got a pimple on my right leg, I ignored it. Later it turned into an infection that spread to the bone marrow. I had gangrene. The only way to save me was to keep my legs up to the knees. To cut
Lokendra says- "I wish I had taken care of this when I started diabetes about 10 years ago. We actors do not have any fixed time during shooting. Our lunch and irregular working hours are bad for our health. It has an effect. It increases stress. All this leads to diabetes, even if you are not fond of sweets." He said, "I have got financial support through CINTAA. Actors are calling to know about my health and for inspiration."
Lokendra hopes to have a prosthetic leg fitted, for which Nupur Alankar, who is taking care of Savita Bajaj, has also given him a letter through yoga therapist Shambhu Saran Jha. In this, it is mentioned to bear the expenses of the hospital where Lokendra will be admitted for the fitting of the foot. However, Lokendra says that the wound has to be healed first. The prosthetic leg will be installed only later.
Lokendra is married and has two children. Apart from 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' and 'Jodha Akbar', Lokendra has also worked in several shows like CID, Crime Patrol. Lokendra, 50, was also seen in Ranbir Kapoor's 'Jagga Jasoos' and Meezaan Jaffrey's 'Malaal'.
