Passengers traveling on premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto are going to suffer a major setback. Passengers traveling on these trains, if they include food while booking tickets, will have to pay 3% to 9% more fare. The revised catering charge will come into effect from March 29 next year.

As per the new order, passengers in these  trains will get First Class AC and Executive Class Rs 35 (now Rs 15) for tea, Rs 140 for Breakfast (Rs 90 now) and Rs 245 (now Rs 140) for lunch and dinner. ) Will have to be paid. At the same time, morning t20 (now Rs 10), breakfast 105 (now Rs 70), lunch and dinner Rs 185 (now Rs 120) and evening tea Rs 90 (now Rs 45) in second class AC, third class AC and chaircar will be found in.

Catering charge was revised in 2013
In the sleeper class of the Duronto train, Morning T will be available for Rs 15 (now Rs 10), Breakfast 65 rupees (Rs 40 now), Lunch and Dinner for Rs 120 (Rs 75 now) and Evening T 50 rupees (Rs 20 now). Catering prices in Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains were revised in 2013.

'Increased price for quality'
When asked about the increase in fees, Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi said, "There is a need to increase the catering charge to provide quality catering facilities."
