Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has appealed to the people of Indian origin living in the world to send at least 5 non-Indian families in India every year as tourists and by doing so they can help in promoting tourism in India. Do it Addressing the gathering of around 50000 people of Indian community living in America in Houston, USA on Sunday, PM Modi said that he wants people of Indian origin living around the world to cooperate in increasing tourism in India.

Modi told the people present in Hutst, 'Can you do anything for me? I beg you a little I am saying this to all Indians living around the world. Take a decision that each of you has to send 5 non-Indian families to India as a tourist every year. Before addressing the people in Houston, PM Modi laid the foundation of the Eternal Gandhi Museum and inaugurated the Siddhi Vinayak Temple.

Government's effort to promote tourism

Earlier, presenting the budget of Modi government 2.0, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had talked about developing 17 iconic sites to increase the number of tourists in India. The Finance Minister had said that these iconic sites would be developed as world-class destinations to increase the number of tourists. He said that the government wants more and more tourists to come to India and for these better facilities are needed in the country.
