International Olympic Association (IOC) President Thomas Bach has reiterated once again that it is too early to take any decision on the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics in the current situation. But he admitted that the committee is considering several options. This does not include postponing games. Because there are still 4 months left in the games. In such a situation, the IOC will take any decision based on the advice of the World Health Organization and its taskforce.
According to a joint statement by Formula One and FIA (International Automobile Federation), the staff took this decision to ensure the health and safety of the players participating in the championship, given the situation arising out of the Covid-19 worldwide.
The president of the IOC may be denying the postponement of the Games. But the way Olympic qualifying events and big tournaments are being canceled or postponed due to coronavirus. This is expected that it will not start according to the schedule. This is also visible because 43 percent of the athletes have not been able to qualify for the Games. Nevertheless, the IOC believes that at present, the situation is so uncertain that no decision can be taken.
