Due to the coronavirus outbreak, it was decided to postpone this year's Olympics in Tokyo for a year. The next year too, there is no surety about this event. A senior official associated with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has said that if the Tokyo Olympics do not take place on the dates fixed in 2021, it will be canceled. Let us tell you that Olympics Games were to be held from 24 July to 9 August 2020. Now it will be held between 23 July to 8 August 2021.

Pierre Oliver Beckers, chairman of the IOC coordination committee, said he was confident that the games would begin on July 23 next year. Oliver also said that it is impossible to postpone a tournament of this level more than once.

He said that today everyone is confident that the tournament will begin on 23 July 2021. We are confident that the game will be held in 2021, otherwise it will not happen. It is difficult to postpone such a project repeatedly because it costs a lot of money and many thousands of people are involved in it. IOC President Thomas Bach has also reiterated earlier that if the Olympics do not take place between July 23 and August 8 in 2021, then there are no other plans for them.
