On Day 3 of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, India's first Olympic fencer Bhavani Devi delivered a win on debut but lost her Round of 32 match to get knocked out. Meanwhile, Veteran boxer MC Mary Kom, table tennis player Manika Batra and shuttler PV Sindhu managed to win their respective matches. Meanwhile, Australia beat India 7-1 in men's hockey.

Sumit Nagal knocked out in round 2:

At the same time, India's hope of winning medal in Tennis ousted as Sumit Nagal went down 6-2, 6-1 to World No.2 Daniil Medvedev in Round 2 clash. In badminton, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty lost in their men's doubles second round.

Indian men's archery team lost to Korea:

The Indian men's archery team including Atanu Das, Pravin Jadhav and Tarundeep Roy knocked out of the Tokyo Olympics games team event in the quarter-finals after losing 0-6 to against Korea. Deok Jae Kim, Woojin Kim and Jinyeok Oh of Korea defeated the Indian team 59-54, 59-57, 56-54. Meanwhile, the Indian team had earlier defeated Kazakhstan 6-2.

Satwik and Chirag lost in men's doubles of badminton:

In the men's doubles event of Badminton, the Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty suffered a straight game defeat against Indonesian pair of Marcus Gideon and Kevin Sukamuljo. Meanwhile, the Indian pair of world number 10 Satwik and Chirag were defeated by world number one Indonesia 21-13, 21-12 in 32 minutes.

Sutirtha Mukherjee's singles challenge ends in table tennis:

Women's Paddler Sutirtha Mukherjee's singles challenge is over. In the second round of women's singles event. Sutirtha lost 0-4 (3-11, 3-11, 5-11, 5-11) to Yu Fu of Portugal in women's singles. Meanwhile, this led to a disappointing end to her Olympic journey.
