On Friday, the sentence of expelled Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, convicted in the rape of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district in 2017, will be announced on Friday.

Additional Sessions Judge Dharmesh Sharma will sentence Kuldeep, convicted in the misdemeanor, during the crucial hearing in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court. Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who has been convicted for raping a minor after kidnapping, has also been charged with a poxo, in which case the maximum sentence of life imprisonment can be pronounced by the court.

In the previous hearing, the counsel for the victim side had sought maximum compensation along with maximum punishment during the debate on the sentence. At the same time, the defense lawyer has demanded the least punishment, citing the marriage, social status and social service-political service of the MLA's daughters.

In the previous hearing, on December 16, the Tis Hazari court convicted Kuldeep Singh Sengar in Section 376 and Section-6 of POCSO. There was a debate on the sentence on 17 December, in which the counsel for the victim sought life imprisonment to the convict under the maximum sentence, while also seeking maximum compensation.

The CBI was also reprimanded by the Tis Hazari Court while convicting MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in a hearing held on 16 December. The court had said in a strict tone that why did CBI put charge sheet after one year in this case of gang rape? At the same time, the court also said that in order to save the life of the victim, the victim had filed the case late. The court had also said that we understand the pain of the victim. The convict is domineering and the victim is a normal family girl
