Sometimes the government gets tough. China is the country about which the world knows only as much as it tells. In 1979, it introduced the 'Single Child' policy i.e. one couple one-child policy. The birth rate went down. The elderly population grew faster than the young. The craze of indiscriminate development was riding on the government. When they woke up in 2016, the couples were allowed to have two children. Now after five years this number has been reduced to 3.

Whatever the government had to do, they did. Democracy is not where different sections of the society are discussed, their consent and advice are taken. Just had to pronounce the verdict, then it was heard, but the government forgot that people do not want more than one child now. It was perhaps even less than a report that brought sweat to Xi Jinping's forehead. A New York Times report has claimed that some young men in China are getting vasectomy before marriage, for the money, fame, and career are everything. Let us try to know some more things about this chuckle going on in China quoting some different media reports.

What do people say?

Hu Deifeng, 35, lives in Sichuan and previously worked in the migration sector. He says – I cannot even think of more than one child. It was already very difficult. When the mother became ill, the problem increased a lot. I think we are alive, but we are not able to live. Hu's mother also does not want her son to continue working and still be burdened with debt.

Li Yung, who works in an IT company, says – Society does not want us to give birth to more than one or two children. The young generation does not even want to think about more than one child. Now no matter what the government offers, no one wants three children.

The issue is hot on social media too

China has a Weibo platform on the lines of Twitter. Here people are telling how expensive education is, house prices are sky high and there is no account of working hours. In such a situation, it is impossible to raise three children.

A user on Weibo said – Take out those who advise three children. Will you help us raise these children? Will you give them a house? Some surveys were also conducted, but even in these people did not seem too enthusiastic about the new policy.

What is the government hiding?

The Jinping government is not ready, to tell the truth of the new policy to the people. The CNN report quoted sources as saying – The government has given assurance of help to the people on the 3 child policy, but what and how will this help me? Not ready to say anything on this. Professor Lu Hongping of Hebei University says – a good thing happened in five years. Maternity leave was increased to 160 days. People don't have trust, so families are shrinking.

Working women pain

According to the New York Times – on the day the Chinese government approved the three children, 35-year-old Lily, who worked in technology in Beijing, was called by her boss and asked – you are pregnant, how many days of maternity leave do you need. Due to the fear of losing the job, Lily said – at most four months. Maybe I should start working before that.

According to a report – there have been countless cases in China where female employees are either decommissioned as soon as they become pregnant or they are directly fired from their jobs. Some women are even made to write on contract papers that they will not become pregnant during service.

Some improvements, but more left

In a conversation with CBS News, some women said – The government has made some policies to improve the birth rate. Since 2019, it is a rule that companies cannot know about marital status and kids from the employee, but who will implement this policy?

Lou Pin is a woman activist. She says – Our government is expert only in making things. Just doing two things won't do anything. With the government's new 3 child policy, the situation for women in the workplace is going to get worse. Companies will feel that they can go on long leave anytime. There are more problems for working women in China. Many companies make them sign contracts. It also includes the condition of not becoming a mother during the job.

And on the go: His incomplete story

Huyang Yulong, 26, was not married. He had already had a vasectomy. The reason is very painful. He says that when I was young, in search of work and money, my parents had left the trust of relatives. Come to meet once a year. What is the use of such a family?

Children are not needed in our generation. We want to live without any burden. I want to spend my money only on myself. Two other youths also have a similar story. However, he refuses to reveal the name. Another youth also went for sterilization, but the hospitals returned him saying – you are unmarried, and getting your vasectomy is against the government policies.

What kind of government is this?

According to a report in 'New York Times', there are many insurance companies in China that are offering 'double income, no kids' to unmarried youth. Companies in the matchmaking service sector openly contact young people who want to be together but do not want to be parents.
