Although it is a civilian organization, in view of China's antics and expansionist policies in the Indian and Pacific oceans, the coming together of these four countries is considered very important.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the meeting of the Quad will include issues like new technology, cyber security, maritime security, humanitarian assistance, and disaster management, besides climate change. An effective strategy can also be considered regarding China's attitude because China is presenting a common challenge to the quad countries.
