Amid political turmoil in Maharashtra, three Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLAs alleged that they were taken to the Maharashtra Raj Bhavan earlier on Saturday morning when they were not aware of the oath-taking ceremony and were with party chief Sharad Pawar. The three MLAs made this statement in a joint press conference addressed by Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
These press conferences were held hours after Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar were sworn in as Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers. NCP MLA Rajendra Shingane said that Ajit Pawar had called him for something. From there I was taken to Raj Bhavan along with other MLAs. Before we could understand the oath ceremony, I went to Pawar saheb and told him that I am with Sharad Pawar and NCP.
I was taken there without any prior notice. NCP MLAs, Sandeep Kshirsagar and Sunil Bhusara, also confirmed their support to Sharad Pawar. The ACP supremo said that the party would take action against his nephew Ajit Pawar. He also said that NCP will elect its new Legislature Party leader at 4 pm today. Ajit Pawar's decision is against the party line and indiscipline. No NCP leader or activist is in favor of the NCP-BJP government. All legislators should know that there is anti-defection law and they are likely to be defeated. Sharad Pawar said that membership of such MLAs can also be canceled.
He said that the NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena, which were in talks, will form the government and Fadnavis will not be able to prove majority. He said, the governor has given them time to prove their majority, I am sure but they will not be able to prove it. After this, our three parties will form the government as we had decided earlier.
