After Rajasthan, there is caution about locust teams in South Haryana and Delhi. In view of the threat of locusts in Delhi, Development Minister Gopal Rai of Delhi Government has called an emergency meeting.  The governments of Delhi and Haryana should also make arrangements for medicines.  So that if grasshoppers reach in Delhi then they can be controlled.

At the same time, Rewari forest division officer Sundarlal has issued an alert to departmental officers. Development Secretary, Divisional Commissioner, Director Agriculture, DM South Delhi, DM West Delhi will be present in the meeting.  The government will issue advisory after the meeting.

Agricultural scientists are apprehensive that the locust party may reach both these states if there is a strong storm. Locusts are hovering on the flyover Bhimgarh Kheri, Rajendra Park, Surat Nagar, Laxman Vihar, Daulatbagh in Delhi adjacent to Delhi. Dr. JPS Dabas, Principal Scientist of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa in Delhi said that these should be controlled only in Rajasthan.

Farmers are upset and are trying to eradicate them

The locust team is moving towards Delhi via Rajasthan and Haryana.  However, the state administration along with the central government is ready to destroy them completely.  Drones will be used for air spray on locusts.  Along with this, a large number of mounted spares have also been prepared.  Three teams of the Agriculture Department have been formed to eliminate locusts at 10 subdivision headquarters of the district.  At the same time, there were outbreaks of locusts in 36 thousand 325 hectares in the attacks  at 93 places in the district.  Locust groups have been killed by spraying locusts at 10465 hectares with chlorpyrifos EC Lambda, with 1749 farmers visiting the fields and spraying chemicals to eliminate locusts.
