Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the good relations between India and China as important for the peace and prosperity of both countries, region and the world and said that there is a need to adopt a truly global techniques to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic. According to the State Department's statement, Prime Minister Modi said this in a message sent to Chinese Premier Li Qing on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China.

On this occasion, President Ram Nath Kovind wrote a letter to Chinese President Xi Chinfing, underlining the strong ties between the two countries. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, President Ram Nath Kovind in a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed his best wishes to the Chinese government and its people. Kovind said that the two countries have achieved a lot of progress in the last few years in strengthening bilateral relations including political, economic fields and people-to-people relations.
