Reliance Industries announced the launch of the world's cheapest smartphone JioPhone Next in its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) recently. This phone has been prepared by Reliance in association with Google. In this regard, reliable sources of the Gujarat government say that Google can produce this smartphone in Gujarat. Because, some time ago Google officials had come to see the location in Gujarat to set up the plant.

Visited Dholera Special Investment Region

On the condition of anonymity, a government official said that some Google officials had reached Gujarat recently. He had visited Dholera Special Investment Region (Dholera SIR). At the same time, more than 80% of the ongoing infrastructure work in Dholera has been completed and due to this the Gujarat government is also promoting Dholera for many companies of the country and the world.

No company came to Gujarat after Corona

Let us tell you that no big company has invested in Gujarat since the Corona period. The Vibrant Gujarat Investment Summit has also not been held this year due to Covid. Due to this, the state government is also trying to bring Google to the state. However, it is not yet clear how much Google can invest in Gujarat for the smartphone plant.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai had said about the new smartphone during Reliance's AGM that 'Our next step is to launch the affordable Jio smartphone by Google and Jio. It is made for India and it will open doors to new possibilities for millions of people who will be using the internet for the first time. A new 5G partnership between Google Cloud and Jio will help connect over a billion Indians to the Internet faster. This will also help in the digitization of India.
