These days Neena Gupta is in her house in Mukteshwar in Uttarakhand. She has been there for the last two and a half months due to the lockdown. Neena told this while coming live with Anupam Kher.
During the conversation, Neena told about the accident on the sets of Sanjay Khan's serial 'The Sword of Tipu Sultan'. Neena told that she was childless and the reason for this was her daughter Masaba. Neena told that I did not want to do this show, but my daughter was young. Money was needed, so the show was done. The shooting of this show was going on in Mysore. I and some artists lived in a flat.
A scene of my own wedding was to be shot that day. At that time Masaba had a fever, so she did not take her on the set. After a while, I feel like sending a car and called Masaba along with my domestic help on the set. During the shoot, I secretly came out of the set to feed Masaba. At that time set of the show caught fire and I had gone out to feed Masaba, I would not have been where the fire broke out.
Neena Gupta is celebrating her birthday on June 4. Nina has turned 61 years old. Masaba has wished her a happy birthday by sharing an old picture of Neena. Masaba wrote- Happy birthday mom. Thanks to the fact that I never felt the sunset behind me. This is the biggest message.
Sword of Tipu Sultan was broadcast on Doordarshan's DD National channel during 1990-91. Sanjay Khan played the character of Tipu Sultan in the show.
