The Story behind India’s Electric Bike Rental Startup ‘Yulu’

Every automobile manufacturer is promoting electric mobility and due to this, Bajaj Auto is also working on making a single-seater electric scooter. This scooter will be used for electric mobility service. According to the information, the name of this electric mobility service will be 'Yulu'. In November last year, Bajaj invested $ 8 million (about Rs 59.14 crore) in this bike-sharing startup.

This is the first time that Bajaj has invested such a huge amount for a startup. Now Bajaj wants to launch an electric scooter for Yulu next year, which will cost from 30 thousand to 35 thousand rupees. Regarding this, Amit Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Yulu said that "We are spending around $ 600, or about 44 thousand rupees on every bike. These scooters will be produced in China and added in India."

He said that "Currently the price of this scooter is coming to around $ 600, but we can reduce its price and bring it from Rs 30,000 to 35,000". Talking about the power of this scooter, this scooter has a 48 volt motor. This scooter can be mounted at a speed of 25 km per hour and it offers a range of 60 km on full charge.

Amit Gupta explained that "We want Bajaj to design and develop this electric scooter, which makes it look more attractive than the current Yulu bike." This scooter will be very easy to use and maintain.
