The historical Chaturveda Mahayagya has been launched in the Birla temple with a view to dispel misconceptions about the Vedas and to spread them to the masses. In this six-day event, recitation of the mantras of the four Vedas will be performed along with the offering of havan material.

Sir Sanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will come on Friday in this historic yajna. At the same time, Sir Karyavah Bhaiyya Joshi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come on Saturday. In this program, besides the defense minister Rajnath Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, many Chief Ministers and Union Ministers, besides well-known industrialists and social workers of the country will also be involved. It is being organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Jhandewalan Temple and Ashok Singhal Foundation. It will be held till 14 October. Anyone can join it.

A Vedic period based yagna site has been constructed in the temple complex for Mahayagya. Five kundalis have been constructed on the basis of Vastu Shastra in the main Yajna Sthal. It started on Wednesday evening with the Shobha Yatra. Keeping the four Vedas on the chariot, a journey of about one and a half km from Ramakrishna Ashram to Birla Temple was taken out. A large number of saints and saints along with women also participated in the yatra.

The official beginning of the Mahayagya started at 9 am on Thursday. In this, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Yajman became. More than 50 Vedacharyas have come from South India to chant Veda mantras. These include students of Vedas. He is headed by Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Chinn Jeeyar Swamy. On the occasion of the end of the Shobha Yatra, he has urged Delhiites to join this Mahayagya in large numbers. He said that the event is to introduce the common people to the Vedic tradition. Also to correct the misconceptions. The event will define Vedas in the light of science.
