The Ashtanga Yoga of Maharishi Patanjali had reached the world long ago after leaving India. In this ancient Mayapuri of spirituality, the Ganges of Yoga Pranayama has always been flowing parallel to the Ganges. It got international status five years ago. Yog Guru Swami Ramdev played an important role in this.

This Tapobhoomi of Haridwar and Rishikesh has been a stronghold of Yog since ancient times. Mahant Shravanath, Swami Shantanand, Swami Dharmanand, well-known yogis of Rammulakh court, Prof. Many ascetics, including Email, Sivananda, Omkarananda, Swami Narayanananda, Shriram Sharma Acharya, Shyamlal, Keshavdev, the great Yogi Satyananda, Swami Shraddhanand, the founder of the Gurukul, meditated on this holy land. The light of Ashtanga Yoga spread from this earth all over the world. The Gurukul established by Shraddhanand 120 years ago and the Rishikul established by Mahamana Madanmohan Malviya in 1907 emerged as major centers of yogas practice with education. Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna started the work of bringing the yoga stream of Kripalu Maharaj and Swami Shankardev to this point in 1995.

The first Saptarishis, who settled the Saptasarovar area of ​​Haridwar, performed yoga practice here in ancient times along with the practice of knowledge. Among those sages, Bharadwaj, Jamadagni, Gautam, Atri, Vashishta, etc.

The Sage's Experiments

These sages considered yoga as the main medium of light of the soul. By connecting the life force with yoga, the sages did many experiments on this ancient land of Haridwar.

Similar work was later done in many ashrams located on Kankhal Sanyas Marg. Once upon a time, the city of Kankhal was a big center of Ayurveda. The combination of Yog and Ayurveda has done great work. Many yog programs are organized in this city on International Yoga Day.
