Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and senior leaders of several other opposition parties have reached Srinagar in the afternoon to visit Kashmir on Saturday and take stock of the situation there after the removal of key provisions of Article 370. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi along with 11 opposition leaders arrived at the Srinagar airport on Saturday. The administration has stopped everyone at the Srinagar airport. The delegation of 11 leaders of 8 parties was not allowed to exit Srinagar Airport. The leaders were not allowed to meet anyone. All are being sent back to Delhi from the airport itself.
Be aware that as soon as Rahul Gandhi arrived at the Srinagar airport with 11 opposition leaders, there has been an uproar at the airport, the leaders have been banned from leaving. However, the Jammu and Kashmir government had issued a statement on Friday night asking the politicians not to visit the valley as it would gradually hamper the restoration of peace and common life.
