Peggy Lipton, the entertainer, and artist best known for her jobs in The Mod Squad and Twin Peaks has passed on at 72 years old. 

Her demise was reported on Saturday by her girls Kidada and Rashida Jones. Lipton was determined to have colon malignancy in 2004.

"She took her last breath gently with her girls and nieces close by," Her girls said in an announcement to the Los Angeles Times. "We feel so fortunate for each minute we went through with her."

Conceived Margaret Ann Lipton in New York City on Aug. 30, 1946, she started demonstrating at 15 and began acting at 19, showing up on The John Forsythe Show, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and Bewitched.

Lipton ended up acclaimed for playing Julie Barnes, one of three covert cops in the show, The Mod Squad, which she featured in from 1968 to 1973.

The momentous show delineated the developing counterculture development of the time and was one of first to highlight an interracial cast, as per the Los Angeles Times.

It dug into points like abusive behavior at home, fetus removal,  and medications.

At the heights of her distinction, Lipton started her singing profession. She discharged a self-titled collection and proceeded to appreciate outline accomplishment for her fronts of "Stoney End" by Laura Nyro and "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" by Donovan.

In 1974, Lipton wedded Quincy Jones, the famous performer, and maker, and besides featuring the 1979 TV motion picture The Return of Mod Squad, she enjoyed a reprieve from acting to bring up their two girls.
