Tension Erupts again in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan Captures 6 Armenian Soldiers

Once again in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan have increased significantly. Azerbaijan has imprisoned 6 Armenian soldiers.

Baku: Tensions have once again erupted in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, which had witnessed a fierce war last year between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan has captured 6 Armenian soldiers. Defense ministries of both countries have confirmed this. Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that the Armenian troops captured were trying to cross its border into the Kelbazar area.

Azerbaijan said that Armenia soldiers were trying to lay landmines on the way of Azerbaijan soldiers and they have been surrounded and taken captive. On the other hand, Armenia has said that its soldiers were doing engineering work in the eastern Gegharkunik area. This area is adjacent to Azerbaijan. Armenia said that necessary steps are being taken to rescue these soldiers.

America expressed concern over the growing tension between the two countries

Meanwhile, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has called for international observers from Russia or other countries to be deployed along the border of Azerbaijan. He said that the atmosphere in this area is tense. Meanwhile, the US has expressed concern over the growing tension between the two countries and said that all 6 soldiers from Azerbaijan should be released immediately. Thousands of people died in the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan last year.

Russian troops have been stationed

Armenia had to lose a stake in Nagorno Karabakh. Since then, Russian troops have been stationed there. The two countries want to occupy a part of the name Nagorno-Karabakh spread over 4400 square kilometers. The Nagorno-Karabakh region is internationally part of Azerbaijan but is occupied by ethnic factions of Armenia.

In 1991, the people of this region declared themselves independent of Azerbaijan and declared part of Armenia. Azerbaijan rejected this act theirs completely. Thereafter, there are frequent conflicts between the two countries at certain intervals.
