Instagram is reportedly extending the duration restriction for Instagram Stories from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Instagram Stories that were longer than 15 seconds were previously divided into several portions. The social media business is claimed to have started testing the modification with a small group of users towards the end of last year.

Instagram launched parental control features and the Family Center in India earlier this month. Back in March, Meta unveiled the parental supervision tools and the Family Center feature. For breaking severe European Union data privacy standards, the firm was recently fined EUR 405 million (approximately Rs. 3,200 crores).

Instagram confirmed to expand story duration from 15 to 16 second

According to a recent TechCrunch story, Instagram has confirmed that it is expanding the duration restriction for Instagram stories from 15 seconds to 60 seconds. Previously, whenever a user shared a video that was longer than 15 seconds, it was divided up into smaller chunks. This made publishing videos to Instagram Stories more difficult, including identifying and referencing other users.

As previously stated, Instagram is claimed to have begun testing the new feature with select users towards the end of last year.

Instagram also launched parental control features in India

Instagram also launched parental control features and the Family Center in India earlier this month. The Family Center provides parents and guardians with access to prominent specialists' monitoring tools and materials. These tools will allow families to monitor and limit their children's screen time on Instagram. The new parental settings are part of Meta's efforts to safeguard youngsters who use its social networking applications.

Instagram was recently fined EUR 405 million (about Rs. 3,200 crore) for breaking stringent European Union data privacy standards. The Meta-owned social networking platform was discovered to be misusing minors' sensitive information. An inquiry by Ireland's Data Protection Commission discovered that Instagram published personal information of users aged 13 to 17 years. Instagram's parent company, Meta, has stated that it disagrees with how the amount was calculated and intends to appeal the sentence levied by the regulator.
