Honor is set to kick off its first smartphone launch in the new year and it will be the Honor 10 Lite. The company is holding an event in New Delhi which is scheduled to begin at 11 am where it will announce the price and availability of the Honor 10 Lite. The phone succeeds the Honor 9 Lite which was launched in India around the same time last year. The Honor 10 Lite touts an updated design with a Dewdrop display, and it also comes with AI-backed cameras and Android Pie.
The Honor 10 Lite will go on sale as a Flipkart exclusive device. The company will announce the sale date and price of the phone in just a few hours and you can watch the Livestream of the event via the e-commerce platform. Based on the specs on offer, the Honor 10 Lite will likely be placed below Rs 15,000, much like the Honor 9 Lite. We expect a starting price of around Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000 for the base model with 4GB of RAM. The company will also launch a 6GB RAM variant that will be priced a few notches higher.
Honor's newest affordable phone has already been launched in China, so pretty much everything is known already. The Honor 10 Lite touts an attractive design with a glass-like 3D rear panel that sees dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor. The phone could come in four colours – Gradient Blue, Gradient Red, Lily Valley White, and Magic Night Black.
The Honor 10 Lite is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core Kirin 710 chipset coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. It is the first Honor phone to ship with Android Pie with EMUI 9 on top in India. It sports a 6.21-inch FHD+ dewdrop display with a droplet-style notch. In comparison, the Honor 9 Lite comes with an 18:9 display with symmetrical bezels on the top and bottom.
The Honor 10 Lite gets AI backed cameras on the front and back. On the front, the phone gets a 24MP selfie camera housed in the notch, while the back sees a dual camera system with a 13MP + 2MP configuration. The primary lens gets an f/1.8 aperture. The phone also houses a 3400mAh battery.
