Piaggio India has launched Aprilia and Vespa scooters in the Indian market as per BS6 standards. These scooters now come with a high performance 160 cc single-cylinder engine and now it also has a fuel-ejection system. The Aprillia SR 150 has been renamed Aprilia SR 160 with the new powertrain. The starting price of the new Aprilia SR 160 is Rs 85,431, which is about Rs 10,000 more expensive than the old version. The new BS6 Vespa 150 SXL is priced at Rs 91,492 (ex-showroom, Pune).

The new 160 cc motor has been replaced with a 154.8 cc single cylinder motor which was a BS4 model. The power of this engine has also been upgraded and it now gives power of 10.8 bhp, whereas the current model used to give power of 10.4 bhp. The company has not made any changes in its styling and looks. Here the company has not given any new graphics and decals. So this model does not look fresh in appearance, but now it has been updated with BS6 engine.

The new 160 cc Vespa and Aprilia scooters are present at all the company's dealerships across the country. Apart from this, the company will also introduce its 125 cc scooter range by January 2020 soon. This includes the Vespa range and Aprilis SR 125.
