The introduction of Airtel's fifth-generation mobile (5G) services in Guwahati was announced on Monday. The telecom company stated that as the service provider continues to build out its network and complete the rollout, Airtel 5G Plus services would be made gradually available to users. Until the roll-out is more extensive, customers with 5G-capable smartphones can use the fast Airtel 5G Plus network without paying extra, the company said.
The company stated that Airtel's services, which are currently available on G S Road, at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Dispur College, Ganeshguri, Christian Basti, Sree Nagar, Zoo Road, Lachit Nagar, Ulubari, Bhangagarh, and Beltola, among other select locations, would be expanded across the city in due course.
Rajnish Verma, CEO of Bharti Airtel for Assam and the North-East, commented on the launch "I'm ecstatic to report that Airtel 5G Plus has launched in Guwahati. Customers of Airtel can now access an ultrafast network with speeds up to 20–30 times quicker than those of existing 4G. We are illuminating the whole city so that our consumers can take advantage of lightning-fast access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, numerous chats, rapid photo uploads, and more."
The telecom company claimed that Airtel 5G Plus would improve all of the services it provides, and that it would also enable incredibly quick access to high-definition video streaming, gaming, multiple chatting, immediate photo uploading, and more.
The business added that its current Airtel 4G SIM is 5G-capable and that no SIM upgrade is necessary.
The service provider claimed that with this debut, Airtel 5G Plus will change mobility, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, and education.
