6G by 2030: According to CNBC, Nokia CEO Pekka Lundmark thinks that 6G mobile networks will be operational by the end of this decade, but that smartphones will not be the most "common interface" by then. During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said he expects 6G to enter the commercial sector around 2030.

Smartphones, as we know them now, will undoubtedly no longer be the most prevalent interface

When asked when the world will shift away from smartphones and toward smart glasses and other gadgets, Lundmark claimed it will happen before 6G. "By then, the smartphone as we know it now will undoubtedly no longer be the most prevalent interface." According to CNBC, "many of these items will be built right into our bodies."

While Lundmark did not explain what type of gadget he was referring to, several businesses, such as Elon Musk's Neuralink, are already developing brain-computer interfaces. Musk revealed footage of a male macaque playing "Mind Pong" with chips inserted on each side of its brain in April of last year. Despite being taught to move a joystick, it was disconnected. The macaque was only thinking about moving its hands to manipulate the paddle.

India is working on indigenously built 6G technology intending to launch it as early as 2023

Furthermore, the precise meaning of 6G is still unknown, as many countries of the world, including India, have yet to receive 5G coverage. However, during a conference in November last year, Indian communications minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that India is working on indigenously built 6G technology intending to launch it as early as 2023 or early 2024.

While addressing a telecom conference, Prime Minister Modi stated that a task group has already been formed to prepare India for the deployment of 6G services over the next 10 years.
