BCCI president Sourav Ganguly on Sunday informed that the Indian team will tour Sri Lanka in July for the limited-overs bilateral series. However, the players such as skipper Virat Kohli and Vice-captain Rohit Sharma will not be part of the tour as they will be engaged in the five-match Test series in England.

Sourav Ganguly further said, "We have planned a white ball series for the senior men's team during the month of July where they will play T20 Internationals and ODIs in Sri Lanka. "Yes, it will be a team of white-ball specialists. It will be a different team."

Team India's tour of England ends on September 14:

The Indian team will play the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand from 18 to 22 June. At the same time, the team will play the five-match Test series against England in August. In such a situation, the Indian team will remain in England and prepare for the series. The Indian team's England tour will end on 14 September.

The schedule for the Sri Lankan tour has not been released yet. But it is believed that the team can play 5 T20 and three ODI series there. The BCCI wants the players to be prepared before the T20 World Cup to be held in October. Since the Indian team has to play only five Test matches on the tour of England. In such a situation, players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal, who were not included in the Test series against England, should be ready before the World Cup.
