The Maruti Dzire has been at the forefront of sales in the sub-4 meter compact sedan and to compete with the same sedan, the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze have been included in the Indian market.  However, these days Tata cars are getting fast response due to their latest design and powerful engine.  The company currently has Harrier, Altroz, Tiago and Tigor among the latest design vehicles.  The company is now planning to launch Tata Gravitas which is completely new and will be based on Harrier but will be given 7 seats.

Tata is also currently working on its HBX sub-4 meter compact SUV, which is an entry-level SUV and will compete with Ignis.  After all these launches, Tata is also planning to launch its new fledgling sub-4 meter sedan, which will be fiercely contested with Maruti Dzire.  It could also be the new generation Tata Tigor, which will be launched in the Indian market.  According to a report by Team BHP, the sub-4 meter sedan is codenamed Goshaq and will be built by the company on the brand new Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) platform on which the company is building the Altroz and the upcoming HBX SUV.

In the Indian market, Tata Tigor is selling the sub-4 meter sedan segment, which is less than the Maruti Dzire and Hyundai Aura.  Tata will use the new design language in its sedan, which was seen in the Tata Sierra concept and Tata HBX concept during the Auto Expo.  For now, it is not clear whether the new Tata sedan will replace the existing Tata Tigor or will it be positioned above the Tigor as a premium sedan and it can be given diesel and petrol engines with Tata Altroz only.  .
