Mumbai: Casting director Parag Mehta of Netflix's recent horror series 'Betaal' said that he had some very frightening experiences while taking auditions for the show. Parag told IANS, "I still remember a scary feeling in my office. It was evening, it was dark outside and we were about to audition Ahana Kumra for 'Betaal' in my office. I was there. Was present with my team and the whole setup was ready to record things, but as soon as we started, the light went off immediately. My team went down and talked to the security and they knew that the entire building had electricity. After some time the power came back, we made a plan to start again, but it went away again. It was dark all around. We could not see each other. It happened three times and then after when the electricity came in, the air conditioner installed in the room stopped working. After that we decided to take Ahana's audition to her house."
Parag found it all quite strange and scary. He continued, "I don't believe in ghosts, but yes, this incident scared me! Now I am laughing remembering it, but I was very scared at that time."
Written and directed by Patrick Graham, 'Betaal' stars Vineet Kumar Singh, Ahana Kumra, Suchitra Pillai, Jitendra Joshi, Siddharth Menon and Manjari Pupala in the lead roles. Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the series is being broadcast on Netflix.
