Stock Market LIVE: Sensex Gained 116 Points, Strong Opening amid Mixed Trends in Foreign Markets

After giving a strong start, the domestic market has come in the red mark. There is weakness in both the benchmark stock indices. Sensex is trading near 52300. Nifty is moving above 15650. Investors are buying heavily in small and medium stocks. Nifty's mid-cap index is up about 0.40%. The small-cap index of Nifty is up about 1%.

ICICI Bank, M&M, RIL, Titan and UltraTech Cement are giving strength to the market. Shares of Adani Ports, IOC, ONGC, Coal India and Divi's Lab are also supporting. TCS, Infosys, HCL Tech Tech Mahindra and Tata Steel are under selling pressure. Britannia, JSW Steel and Tata Motors are also among the pushers.

Domestic stock markets opened with Gain

Even today Nifty's IT index is under pressure. It is down by about half a per cent. The FMCG index is also a victim of weakness. Realty, pharma and media indices are trying to support the market. The realty index of Nifty is up almost 1%.

Domestic stock markets opened strongly on the last trading day of the week amid mixed trends in foreign markets. The 30-share Sensex of BSE opened at 52,434 with a gain of 116 points. Similarly, NSE's Nifty opened with a gain of 25 points at 15705.

FII and DII data

According to provisional data available on the NSE, on Friday, July 1, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth a net Rs 1,245 crore. That is, he had sold shares worth so much more than the number of shares he had bought. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) had bought shares worth a net Rs 880 crore.

Mixed trends in Asia

Some of the important stock markets in Asia are bullish. Japan's Nikkei index is up about 0.30%. China's Shanghai Composite is down about 1.50%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng is down about 1.80%. Korea's Kospi has a strength of about 0.1%. Australia's All Ordinary is up about 0.5%.

US markets firm

US markets remained firm on Wednesday. The Dow Jones closed up 0.38%. The Nasdaq gained 0.13%. The S&P 500 gained 0.52%. European markets also rose. Britain's FTSE gained 1.25%, Germany's DAX gained 0.71% and CAC by 0.47%.
