Ramayana on Doordarshan is one of the country's most recognisable shows. The show became the most popular show during the pandemic. In a shocking turn of events, a restaurant in Noida was playing a dubbed version of Ramayana.

A video was shown on a big screen at Lord Of The Drinks bar in Noida's Gardens Galleria Mall, and it depicted a scene from the old Ramayana.

Case has been registered under various sections

The video went viral on social media on Monday morning. "An FIR was registered at Sector 39 police station as soon as the matter was brought to our attention," said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida) Shakti Awasthi.

"Three people have been charged in connection with this matter, and one of them has been arrested," he said.

According to police, the FIR was filed under sections 153A and 295 of the Indian Penal Code.

Users on Twitter: Hindu religion is being mocked

The alleged video depicts Lord Rama and the demon king Ravana, with modern music playing in the background, which has enraged some social media users.

An internet user threatened to vandalise the resto-bar after sharing the video clip on Twitter.
