Noida residents have received a New Year's gift as the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has approved the construction of a new metro route to enhance connectivity between Delhi and Noida.
The new metro route will run between the Botanical Garden Metro Station and Sector 142. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project has been approved by the NMRC.
The DPR for this new metro route was prepared by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation last month and handed over to NMRC, Noida Authority, and Greater Noida Authority.
After discussion and approval during the NMRC board meeting, the NMRC has given the green light to the DPR. The new metro line is expected to have a total of eight metro stations, with an estimated length of 11.56 kilometers.
This new metro route will significantly improve connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi. The route will connect the Blue Line (Botanical Garden) with Sector 142 Aqua Line, providing a convenient connection for commuters travelling between Delhi and Greater Noida.
The new route will also directly connect to the Indira Gandhi International Airport via the Magenta Line and provide connectivity to New Delhi and Anand Vihar Railway Stations via the Blue Line.
It is estimated that approximately 80,000 passengers will benefit from this new metro route initially.
Sectors 44, 45, 97, 99, 100, 104, 105, 108, and 93 are expected to receive metro facilities through this new metro route.
