MiG-21 Crashed in Hanumangarh: On Monday, an Indian Air Force MiG-21 fighter jet crashed in the Hanumangarh area of Rajasthan during a normal training sortie, killing at least 4 civilians.

MiG-21 Crashed in Hanumangarh: A MiG-21 fighter plane crashed near Bahalol Nagar village of Pilibanga in Rajasthan's Hanumangarh during a normal training sortie. 

The plane took off from Suratgarh. The pilot of the fighter plane ejected safely and incurred minor injuries, according to the Indian Air Force. 

According to local authorities, three women and one guy were killed in the same housing complex.

The district administration faced protests from the family of the deceased, who demanded a written record detailing the compensation they will receive.

IAF has initiated an investigation

According to an IAF statement, the pilot of the aircraft suffered minor injuries. 

According to Om Prakash, the Inspector General of Police in Bikaner, the pilot of the plane made all possible efforts to avoid casualties and landed the aircraft on the outskirts of a village.

Over 2,000 people, he claimed, have congregated at the crash site, and police and administration are attempting to preserve law and order.

The IAF has initiated an investigation to determine what caused the incident.

Accidents that happened in last 1 year

Earlier in January 2023, one pilot was killed when two Indian Air Force fighter planes, a Sukhoi Su-30 and a Mirage 2000, collided during a training exercise in Bharatpur, Rajasthan

While one jet went down in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, the other went down in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.

An Indian Army helicopter crashed earlier this week in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar area. 

Another disaster occurred in Kochi in April when a Coast Guard helicopter crashed landing during trials. In March, a Navy chopper "ditched" after conducting VVIP duty in Mumbai.

Two army chopper crashes were recorded in Arunachal Pradesh in October of last year. On October 5, 2022, a Cheetah helicopter crashed near Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, killing one Indian Army pilot.
