In a shocking incident in Rajasthan's Jaipur, a 7-year-old girl narrowly escaped a rape attempt when a neighbour lured her with snacks under the pretext of playing.
The victim, a second-grader, was playing with other children outside her home in the colony on the evening of November 5th.
While playing, the accused neighbour, under the pretense of offering snacks, picked up the minor daughter and took her to a nearby forest, where he attempted to commit rape.
Fellow children who were playing with the victim immediately rushed home and informed her mother that the girl had been taken to the jungle.
Alarmed by their unexpected disclosure, the mother quickly headed towards the forest, fearing the worst.
She reached the scene and raised her voice, which alerted her daughter to her presence.
The suspect, upon realizing that he had been discovered, fled the area in a hurry.
The victim's mother, upon returning home with her daughter, shared the horrifying incident with her husband.
Following this revelation, the girl's father wasted no time and lodged a formal complaint with the Kanota police station, invoking the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The case is currently under investigation, with ACP (Bassi) Phoolchand Meena leading the efforts to bring the perpetrator to justice.
