The series of suicides by coaching students in Kota, Rajasthan, shows no signs of abating. Another case of a student's suicide has come to light in Kota.
The deceased student was a resident of Borkheda. The student was supposed to appear for the JEE Mains exam on January 31. It is reported that she took this step due to depression during her studies.
In the alleged suicide note, the student wrote, "Mom-Dad, I can't do JEE, so I am committing suicide. I am the worst daughter, sorry Mom-Dad."
Upon receiving the information, the Borkheda police reached the scene and took custody of the body, initiating an investigation into the case.
The relatives of the deceased mentioned that Niharika was very intelligent in her studies. It should be noted that this is the second case this year, while last year witnessed 29 cases of suicide by students.
The police have also seized a suicide note from the deceased student. In the note, she wrote, "I can't do JEE, so I am going to commit suicide. I am a loser, I am a bad daughter. Mom and Dad, please forgive me, this is my last option."
Niharika, the deceased, had her JEE Mains exam scheduled for Wednesday, January 31. According to family members, Niharika was highly intelligent in her studies.
Just two days before the exam, she succumbed to depression and committed suicide by hanging herself in her room in Kota. The police have taken custody of the body and initiated an investigation.
During the investigation, the police found a suicide note in the deceased's room.
Earlier, on January 23, another student preparing for NEET also committed suicide. The deceased's name was Mohammad Zaid, a resident of Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Mohammad Zaid was preparing for NEET at a private coaching centre. The police did not find any suicide note from the deceased Mohammad Zaid.
Last year, Kota witnessed 26 cases of student suicides, the highest in a year. Every year, students from across the country come here to prepare for medical and engineering entrance exams.
